Some movement in creative outreach? The House

Coming soon…’The House’ , a creative place, a community center for the creative arts – a ‘how to use what God’s given you in the arts to make a difference in your community’ place. A great introduction to the concept will be coming in February by way of a ‘family gathering’. It will be a story telling night capped with some life-application for families and children especially. The kids will all receive a ‘creative gift’ to encourage them, and the parents will have an opportunity to learn – and discuss – some creative ways to follow up at home! This is going to be an excellent night and a great way to share the concept behind ‘The House’, an outreach of project323. Join us!

Coming soon, announcing Denver area meeting – stay posted here! Working on an a showing and collection with local artists – collecting art supplies to send with our various missionary friends around the globe. Once supplies are there, the art that is created will come back for an additional showing to raise funds for those groups – going back in the form of clean water wells, medicine, clothing, food, Bibles! And yes…more supplies to do it again and again. Keep checking in….or email me directly at ken@project323.org

Creative Forum: Writers Group

Interested in writing novels, movie scripts, or other writing projects? You are invited to attend the next Creative Forum on Wednesday, August 12th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room to learn about MetaForum, a division of the Creative Forum that will provide a supportive environment for writers of any genre and all skill levels, share works-in-progress for constructive feedback, improve writing habits and skills, learn from published writers, and find creative ways to express biblical principles to diverse audiences. The Latest: Community Impact Challenge

We will extend the registration process from March 19 through April 19, 2009. The event on March 19 is VERY important for you to attend and get an overview of the project guidelines and expectations. Get people involved and make a difference in your community! What an opportunity! – Register as an individual or a team. Team can be 3 people max. Project must use Creative Arts as platform. Project must make a recognizable impact in your community -Community Impact Challenge is for Denver area and surrounding communities – basically, the Front Range to as far East as Limon. The registration of teams and/or individual participants will be March 19. We have been given space again at the Cherry Hills Community Church to use for our registration process. *This does not have to be a ‘church-related’ project. *You do not have to attend, have attended, or ever plan to attend Cherry Hills or any other church for that matter. They have given us space and we are grateful! This is a CREATIVE ARTS project. Participants MUST use the creative arts to develop a project that directly impacts their community or communities in the Denver/Surrounding Communities. Again – the REGISTRATION of Teams and/or Individuals will be March 19th. There is NO late registration. Here is a map of how to get there:

The room is #225 and it is upstairs right off of the elevator through the main entrance. It’s called the “Fireside Room”.

Now : The BIG CHALLENGE!!

CREATIVE FORUM COMMUNITY IMPACT CHALLENGE!

Many of you know about and have attended our Creative Forum gatherings. The platform thus far has been great, to network with like minded ‘creative’s', to attend workshops and learn new skills or just enhance the ones you already have – and we’ve had some great guest speakers as well! How about this though – let’s put it in action! Creative Forum is putting on a: Community Challenge! We are encouraging teams and individuals to put together community impact projects USING their creative gifts! It can be print, video, music, theater, dance, photography – whatever your particular creative interests are – but it HAS to have an impact in your community directly or in the Denver/Surrounding areas communities. The registration of teams and projects will be March 19, and then we will have a 3 month window to complete the projects and show the impact. There will be judging. This is a REAL challenge! Let’s preserve the platform of the arts – even make it stronger, by using the arts to make a difference! If you would like to be on the Creative Forum mail list – email me (ken@1615.tv) and I will get your name on right away! That is how I will be sending out Challenge Details! 1615.tv will be taping this Challenge for a documentary style program to air shortly after the Challenge is complete. We are looking at sponsorship and prize levels now – and are going to have both student and non-student teams. Want to help preserve the arts in schools? Let’s get our students to use their creative talents and make a difference! I need some champions out there to get me in contact with arts program teachers in schools all around the area – drop an email and help work on something BIG! (ken@1615.tv)

Challenge rules and guidelines will follow soon – but one absolute is that the project will have to impact a community, not one people group. Let’s encourage helping EVERYONE in a community!

CREATIVE FORUM coming in March!! The 2009 Creative Forum will kick off in March. I will post date and location soon, but want to get the juices flowin’.

Here’s the scoop: a CHALLENGE! I knew you’d love it. So we meet and network or listen to a guest speaker or have a workshop; all great stuff and we’ll continue it – BUT, let’s move to action. Let’s not just network, but let’s create something that impacts the community in some way – I challenge you to!
